Benchmarks
Which LK gets you into which college?
German players think in LK – US coaches think in UTR. The table below gives you a rough idea of which college level can fit which playing level. But a lot more than LK or UTR decides: your age, timing, grades, playing style, potential, personality and your individual fit with the college and coach.
| College level | UTR men | UTR women | Approx. LK | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NCAA D1Top programs | 12+ | 9+ | 1–3 | Very high level, roster spots are fiercely contested. |
| NCAA D1Mid-/Low-Major | 10–13 | 8–10 | 1–5 | Very strong college tennis, scholarships possible depending on the program. |
| NCAA D2 | 9–13 | 7–9 | 1–8 | Strong tennis, often a great balance of sports & academics. |
| NAIA | 6–12.5 | 6–9 | 4–9 | A wide range of levels and flexible college structures. |
| NCAA D3 | 4–10 | 5–8 | 6–12 | No athletic scholarships, but often strong academic programs. |
| NJCAAJunior College | 4–10 | 5–8 | 8–14 | A chance to grow athletically & academically and then transfer. |
Important: There’s no “one LK for one college.” We analyze your whole profile and show you which college options fit where you are now and your personal goals.
